Man, 52, Killed in Early Morning Crash in Norwalk; Driver Remains At Scene A 52-year-old man was hit and killed riding a moped in Fairfield County early Sunday morning, April 13, authorities said.  Jose Olavarria was hit at the intersection of West Avenue and Reed Street in Norwalk around 3:50 a.m. and rushed to an area hospital, Norwalk police said. Bridgeport Man Gets 40 Years For Sexual Abusing Kids Over 15-Year Period A Bridgeport man will spend the next four decades behind bars after being convicted of sexually abusing two children over a 15-year span. Rodolfo Nieves, 60, was sentenced to 40 years in prison followed by five years of special parole for multiple sexual assault charges involving two minors, the State's Attorney's Office said.  Both victims were children when the abuse began but are now adults. The crimes took place between 2001 and 2016, the prosecutor said.
